Business Analyst Consultant

The Role

As a Business Analyst Consultant supporting the FILI Term Life Insurance product, you will lead multiple squad initiatives aimed at growing our core business and scaling our technology. You are a digitally savvy strategic thinker with a passion for delivering amazing customer experiences and building latest technology solutions. The role will focus on building new capabilities into the FILI term quote and application tool while continually looking for ways to streamline and improve the existing experience to ensure it is as efficient as possible. so we are able to protect as many lives as possible. Additionally, the role will work to integrate systems and applications into the broader Fidelity enterprise.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience
  • Familiarity with life insurance products, such as annuities, a plus
  • Experience working in digital or mobile offerings, a plus.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and uncertain, with technologies you may have never worked with previously and gather the data and information to get to the root of an issue to resolve.
  • Ability to proactively assess end-to-end process and analyze opportunities for modernization and enhancement.
  • Ability to successfully translate business needs into technical requirements for developers and designers.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and take accountability for overall program success.
  • Strength executing against multiple projects simultaneously and are able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks independently.
  • Ability to build a project plan or roadmap for the squad, ensure the ability for the squad to stay on track by eliminating obstacles and mitigating risks and lead the team through project kick off to deployment.
  • Consistent track record of strategic planning, building project plans, roadmaps, defining, and writing requirements, testing/learning, iterating on, and delivering best in class technical solutions.
  • Experience in managing large scale technical programs and projects with multiple streams of deliverables, resolving challenges, mitigating risks, and working through dependencies while collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to ensure milestones are met.
  • The ability to break a Jira story down into small components, understand the purpose and be able to test.
  • To conduct business acceptance and validation testing and to lead the team through various stages of the release cycle.
  • Exceptional ability to build positive relationships with cross-functional teams, squads, vendors, and leadership teams showcasing strong facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with a full stack technical infrastructure with the ability to map dependencies and integrations.
  • Proficiency in business acceptance testing, validation exercises, and release management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cross-functional collaboration in agile, client centric, fast paced environment.
  • Acting as SME and first line of defense for the development team on any questions.

The Team

You will be part of a diverse team that creates, promotes, and supports Fidelity's outstanding future state Term Life Insurance experience. In this role you will partner with a variety of critical team members including Term Life squads, Commercialization & Delivery teams, Client Services organization, LRC, Underwriting and Actuary, Content and UX, Enterprise Security, Membership, Brokerage and outside vendor relationships. This will be a full-stack development team who will partner closely with other squads and teams who directly, and indirectly, support the Term Life business objectives.
