What you will do!

You’ll work on a collaborative team within Business Engagement Service that supports both the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Human Services. In this pivotal and visible role, you will be responsible for coordinating the process to engage our team for software projects and governance, technology market research requests, and IT policy oversight intake. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that request requirements are clearly defined and communicated, leading to successful software approvals and contract fulfillment.

Key activities:

  • Project Intake: Coordinate requests for new IT projects, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and documented.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating clear communication regarding intake requirements, timelines, and status updates. Provide education on BES workflow and process for intake and governance.
  • Documentation: Maintain records for intake requests to effectively transition requests to the Business Account managers for assignment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Business Account Managers, IT Asset Managers, and business requestors to prioritize requests and manage tasks accordingly.
  • Reporting: Generate operational reports on BES request metrics, trends, and analyze areas for improvement.

This pivotal and visible role is responsible for coordinating the process to engage the BES team for new software projects, technology market research requests, and IT policy oversight. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that request requirements are clearly defined and communicated, leading to successful and timely assignments for Business Account Managers.

What we are looking for:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
OR;
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification

Working Conditions

This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization.  It requires working with a variety of people and situations, which requires the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. The position may require periodic travel for meetings or trainings throughout the state. Employee may be required to use a state vehicle to conduct business; must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record or be able to provide an acceptable alternate method of transportation. At times, weekend and evening work will be necessary to meet customer demands and department deadlines.

This position requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within short time frames. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.

  • Ability to quickly synthesize information, to think critically, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, attention to detail, and problem solve.
  • Familiarity with the executive and legislative decision-making process and state policies affecting application implementation and development.
  • Knowledge and application of equity and inclusion principles such as anti-racism, cultural humility, culturally responsive practice, and engaging priority communities who have been most harmed by social injustice and health inequities.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills through effective listening as well as excellent oral and written communication.
  • Experience with data gathering and analysis, report creation, and visualization through dashboards.
