Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; and standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; and occasionally performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and working at heights above four feet. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; and exposure to radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, and combative/violent people.
Shift
M-F 8a-5pm with occasional weekend and holidays depending on departmental needs.
Job Summary
This position will be responsible for obtaining and processing 12 lead ECGs, hooking up and analyzing holter monitors, and placing event monitors.
Will be responsible for maintaining equipment to ensure proper function. This includes proper placement and function of all cables and monitors connected to patient. Will serve as a resource to clinical areas as needed and maintain confidentiality of patients. Will require passing the EKG competency test given per UK nursing guidelines.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of normal heart rhythm and basic arrhythmias; experience with 12-Lead ECGs; organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as well as follow hospital and unit policies and procedures.

Preferred Education/Experience
Minimum of one to two years of direct experience monitoring and interpreting cardiac physiological data preferred.
