LMI is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer with a minimum of a SECRET clearance and 5+ years of experience to support a DoD customer.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Systems Engineer will provide support the customer by installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining cloud, hybrid and/or on-prem platform and infrastructure, software, and administering access.


Responsibilities:

The Cloud Systems Engineer duties may include:

  • Responsible for evaluating cloud-based technical solutions/designs in accordance with client requirements.
  • Provide expertise to the design and engineering of infrastructure and applications on the cloud, hybrid, or on-prem.
  • Responsible for client’s overall cloud experience, including being the engineering point-of-contact for resolving reported performance or delivery issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all vendor cloud solutions comply with industry and Government-mandated security protocols, controls, and best-practices.
  • Work closely with Cybersecurity resources to document controls, support authorization documentation and provide metrics to comply with audits.
  • Responsible for escalating issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the appropriate levels for clarification and resolution.
  • Administer and monitor IL2/IL4/IL5/IL6 cloud accounts and performance levels.
  • Build parent and child accounts or organizations within an IL2/IL4/IL5/IL6 environment.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of AWS, Gitlab, Kubernetes, and Rancher products and capabilities.
  • Perform unsupervised, hands-on work in gov-cloud environments.
  • Work independently within team environments to set up and maintain cloud architectures.
  • Manage multiple and competing customer priorities with little supervision.
  • Develop High Availability and Disaster Recovery processes in accordance with government and industry guidelines.
  • Help establish DevSecOps Pipelines within the Gov-Cloud Framework.
  • Interact professionally with clients/internal teams; gather requirements and document the work in a ticketing system, designing and implementing new feature additions and improvements. 
  • Utilize industry standard tools such as Gitlab for code version control, project management, product requirements, and user documentation.
  • Work directly with the customer to gather requirements and product feedback for future iterations.
  • Strong ability to analyze business requirements and create solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide timely resolutions.
  • Clearly communicate with product owners to understand business concerns and demonstrate proposed solutions for acceptance.

Core KSATs for DoD Cyber Workforce (DCWF) roles:

  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
  • Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
  • Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a SECRET security clearance.
  • Minimum of five years hand-on experience in Cloud / Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in AWS GovCloud or AWS SECRET region.
  • Experience in setting up, maintaining, and utilizing Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Gitlab CI/CD pipelines and Helm Charts for automated deployments.
  • Experience with maintaining cloud, hybrid, and on-prem solutions.
  • Strong familiarity using Linux toolsets to support and analyze network related topics and issues.
  • Previous government technology experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with DoD technology, systems, and command & control policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working with Agile teams.
  • DOD Cyber Workforce (DCWF) 8140 (451) System Administrator role: A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement for this WRC (conferred within 5 years or able to prove continuous relevant work experience) -OR- Personnel Certifications: Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC. If none, must be willing to obtain in first 30-days.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.

Preferred:

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification.
  • Experience working in IL6 or equivalent secure environments.
  • Experience with security requirements in a federal IT environment, including FedRAMP-certified providers and FISMA requirements for acquiring an ATO.
  • Agile certifications
  • Experience with Cross-Domain Solutions (IL4 to IL6)
