As the Deposit Operations Generalist, you will support a range of functions within the Deposit Operations department, ensuring smooth processing of transactions, compliance with regulatory requirements, and excellent service to internal and external customers. You will be cross-trained in all departmental tasks but assigned specific tasks as daily responsibilities. Your specific daily tasks will include extensive item review, end-of-day real-time payments, Fed Now Balancing, debit card balancing, return mail management, and reporting.
To succeed as the Deposit Operations Generalist, you should have:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; 1-3 years of experience in deposit operations or related fields are preferred; an associate's degree or higher is a plus.
- Understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Skilled in using banking software and performing accurate data entry.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others, adapting to changing tasks.
Deposit Operations Generalist’s Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: You will handle various deposit transactions, including ACH, wire transfers, chargebacks, and account adjustments.
- Account Maintenance: Manage non-post items and account reconciliations and handle exceptions for various deposit accounts.
- Reconciliation and Reporting: Balance general ledger accounts, prepare reports, and assist with daily reconciliations.
- Compliance and Documentation: Provide accurate records and documentation to ensure adherence to bank policies and regulations and assist with audits.
- Cross-training and Flexibility: Be cross-trained in key functions, handle specific daily tasks, and provide coverage for other roles as needed.
