Job Summary

Henderson Community College is seeking applicants for part-time faculty positions in the following areas:

  • Medical Lab Technology
  • Medical Assisting Program
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy Tech

Job Duties:

  • Part-Time instruction.
  • To become proficient in multiple delivery methods including face-to-face day and evening, hybrid, accelerated, and online course modalities and may require travel to multiple campuses or teaching sites.
  • Possess professionalism and exemplary communication and presentation skills.
  • Foster an active and inclusive learning environment and utilizing our learning management system (Blackboard) for communication and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: The successful applicant must possess professionalism and exemplary communication and presentation skills.  

Position Specific Qualifications:

  • MLT:
    • Required to be a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician
    • Must have 3 years+ experience in a clinical lab setting
    • Required to have MLS/MT/MLT Certification
  • MA:
    • Have a minimum of an Associate degree.
    • Be credentialed as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant by examination.
    • Have instruction in educational theory and techniques.
    • Have a minimum of one year teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational technical education.
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a health care facility, including a minimum of 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants.
  • Nursing:
    • Skills laboratory and clinical instructor qualifications.

    • (a) A clinical instructor shall function under the guidance of the nurse faculty responsible for a given course.

    • (b) A clinical instructor for either a registered nurse or practical nurse program shall hold a current unencumbered license, privilege, or temporary work permit to practice as a registered nurse in the state of the student's clinical site.

    • (c) A clinical instructor shall have a minimum of two (2) years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five (5) years and evidence of clinical competence appropriate to teaching responsibilities.

    • (d) For a registered nurse program, the clinical instructor shall meet the requirements of KRS 314.111(6)(a).
