Job Summary
This position performs basic janitorial duties, minor building maintenance tasks, and minor grounds-keeping, maintaining a safe, clean and pleasant atmosphere for students, faculty and staff. This position will work day shift, however, hours may vary.
Job Duties:
• Performs daily cleaning of classrooms and offices such as dusting, taking out trash, cleaning windows, vacuuming, wiping down base boards and cleaning cobwebs and dust from ceilings.
• Performs daily cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of restrooms.
• Performs minor repairs and assists maintenance technician in major repairs.
• Is responsible for maintaining, ordering, and restocking cleaning supplies, paper products, and trash bags.
• Replaces light bulbs, ballasts, ceiling tiles, etc.
• Assists in grounds upkeep and salting of steps and sidewalks during the winter season.
• Moves furniture and equipment for event setups.
• Operates forklift in the event the maintenance technician is unavailable. ( Forklift training will be provided)
• Performs floor maintenance such as; shampooing carpet, sweeping, moping, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Is responsible for setup during special events.
• Maintains organization of supply area(s) and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED, and six months related experience, or equivalent. Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
