Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $24.23.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT SUMMARY

The Fourdrinier Operator performs various duties including but not limited to following written and verbal instructions, and making decisions using good judgment based on prevailing conditions. The job requires the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

The job requires periodic non-repetitive, manual lifting of weights that may be in excess of 50 pounds. The working position may be awkward or require turning, twisting, and/or bending while lifting requiring moderate physical agility. This job also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders. The nature of the job requires moderate endurance, good manual dexterity and reflexes. The job requires that the employee be responsive to periodic emergencies that may demand speed and accuracy.

DUTIES

  • Follow Job Safety Analyses, use safe work practices, and report hazardous conditions at all times.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Keep equipment and area clean and orderly at all times per assigned housekeeping schedule. Paint equipment as directed.
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the forming machine, and the associated equipment including the wet table. Notify processors of raw materials of inferior quality. Set material feed rates on the microprocessor display according to product being ran.
  • Responsible for checking the specifications of the wet mat, and making machine adjustments to maintain the product manufacturing specifications.
  • Set control for cut off length of mat. Clean and repair filters and rotobelt showers as needed.
  • Monitor all equipment associated with the closed water system for proper operation. Monitor and adjust vacuum pump seal water system as required. Check operation of the pumps, stock chests, and auxiliary equipment. Clean as required.
  • Check control instruments and change charts. Start-up and shutdown operations as required. Set side trim cutters. Take corrective action for expander and ore handling alarms as required.
  • Monitor pulper for proper operation as required.
  • Prepare production report and other information as required. Enter data in the SAP system
  • Teach, advocate and use safe working practices at all times and report any hazardous conditions observed. Occasionally train inexperienced employees on the job.
  • Perform other related duties as directed, including duties of other classification. The above sets forth the major work performed and serves the purpose of recording these items of work for job evaluation rating. It is understood that items of work peculiar to the job, but not specifically listed shall be performed.
