Job Summary
The primary teaching assignment is to provide industrial electrical and maintenance instruction for business and industry for customized training. Instructional locations will include the campuses within BCTC service region. The locations include, but are not limited to Lexington, Georgetown, Danville, Lawrenceburg, and Winchester Campuses as well as on-site at business and industry. The position will report to and work directly with the Associate Vice President of Workforce Solutions while working collaboratively with Academics. The position requires flexibility of scheduling, with the ability to work days, evenings and online as needed.
Job Duties:
Classroom, online and laboratory instruction related to Industrial Electrical and Maintenance Technology in an industrial environment including but not limited to, A.C and D.C Electrical Concepts and Fundamentals, Electric Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controls, and Fluid Power.
Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of Industrial Maintenance Technology and related subject areas.
Prepares lesson plans, maintains records, and reports on student attainment and progress.
Perform Project Management duties to develop and organize training plans for business and industry.
Willing to participate in Professional Development Activities.
Develop and maintain working relationships with local industry(s).
Set example of appropriate dress and professional behaviors for students.
Enforce high expectations related to safety, student dress, and professional behaviors including punctuality - respect for leadership – teamwork – written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain order and discipline in the teaching/learning environment
Understand and implement workplace organization (5s) standards
The ability to maintain class materials available, get price quotes for parts and materials needed for the classes.
The ability to teach Rotating Equipment/Machinery and Blueprint Reading,
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree and 2-5 years’ experience in an Electrical and/or Industrial Maintenance teaching discipline or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline or related field and three years of work experience in the teaching discipline or related field.
Commitment to excellence in teaching and exceptional customer service skills.
Successful candidate should possess excellent computer and communication/presentation skills in order to develop and deliver online program-related courses, and in-person laboratory experiences,
