Job Summary
Somerset Community College is accepting applications for a Medical Laboratory Technician Instructor position.
Job Duties:
• Teach medical laboratory technician and phlebotomy courses;
• Participate in evaluation of student achievement;
• Participate in curriculum assessment and development;
• Participate in review and development of program policies and procedures;
• Serve on program committees and participate in assessment of program outcomes;
• Supervise students in laboratory and clinical settings, with some travel to clinic sites, as needed; Demonstrate adequate knowledge and proficiency in assigned content areas of expertise;
• Demonstrate the ability to teach effectively at the appropriate level.
• Other duties include academic advising, internal and external service, professional development and leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Sciences in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) OR Medical Technologist (MT)
• Three years of related work experience
• Current certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists with certification to work in Kentucky
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum requirements PLUS a Masters Degree in Education, Public Health, Chemistry or Biology
• Classroom, laboratory or clinical teaching experience.
