The American Express Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) organization is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media and content, colleague communications and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
This role reports to the Director, Global Influencer & External Speaker Strategy and will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C), Brand, Colleague Experience Group (HR), and enterprise functions. This individual will support and operationalize global talent vetting across the enterprise.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Manage the end-to-end process to vet global talent, including third-party influencers and external speakers, including facilitating day-to-day requests, tracking and documenting activity, and conducting research and analysis as needed
- Be at the forefront of the news cycle and social media and influencer activity through proactive always-on listening and monitoring
- Establish and operationalize consistent processes, guidelines, and best practices for talent engagements to ensure brand alignment
- Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the Central Vetting team, CA&C, Brand, Colleague Experience Group (HR) and external agency partners
- Contribute to the team’s overall communication strategy that supports successful enterprise integration including the development of briefs, toolkits, etc.
- Establish systems, tools and communications to track, coordinate and ensure consistency across talent engagements to drive efficiency and mitigate brand and reputational risk
- Provide insights and reporting for senior leaders
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ year’s experience in communications and/or operations
- Demonstrated marketing, communications, operations, and/or strategy experience
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Understanding of the influencer, social and talent landscape, as well as brand risk and safety controls required to protect a global brand
- Highly motivated self-starter who can operate successfully in ambiguous situations
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Strong team player with ability to build relationships and influence decisions to get things done
- Passion for innovation, technology, risk management and brand
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
