Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $37.07.Schedule: Rotating Schedule working 4 weeks on Days followed by 4 weeks on Nights. 12 Hour Shifts from 7:00-7:00 of 4 on followed by 4 off.
Rate of Pay: $37.07
Summary:
The A Operator General Mechanic installs, modifies and maintains electrical and mechanical equipment to maximize performance, reliability and uptime while controlling cost to established guidelines.
All positions perform all duties but will have different areas of focus and working knowledge:
Shift Mechanic – mid-level working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation.
Day Electrical Mechanic – working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation. Secondary focus on mechanical.
Day Mechanical Mechanic – working knowledge in mechanical while providing assistance with electrical and instrumental.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following and other duties as assigned.
- Uses the SAP Computer System.
- Plans, orders materials and schedules.
- Completes activities under the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation sections.
Electrical
- Reads and interprets electrical electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, instruments loop sheets and technical manuals.
- Installs and maintains complex electrical, electronic and pneumatic measurements and control systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs variable speed motor drive systems.
- Reads and follows practices set forth in the National Electrical Code.
- Selects and uses all standard electrical/electronic and instrumentation test equipment.
- Troubleshoots and maintains power distribution system.
- Calibrates critical Spunbond process measuring equipment.
Mechanical
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical transmission power systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs boiler dowtherm systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs lubrication systems and gearboxes.
- Perform routine and specialized lubrication tests.
- Able to perform basic welding tasks.
- Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic systems.
- Performs precision alignment tasks using laser systems.
- Repairs, rebuilds and balances fans.
- Operate, troubleshoot and repair forklifts.
- Able to perform basic millwright tasks.
- Install, troubleshoot and repair pumps and piping system.
- Reads and understands blueprints, sketches, mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Repair and troubleshoots HVAC systems.
Instrumentation
- Installs and fabricates instrument components.
- Modifies control loops, movement and replacement of instruments, and addition and deletions to the systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain instrumentation system and components, including control valve system.
- Maintains charts/log and records
- Follows area housekeeping and safety rules.
- Operate shop and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Actively participate and contribute to cross-functional teams.
- Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two years of formal technical training or equivalent in craft.
- Three years electrical experience for primary craft.
- 2 years or equivalent training industrial millwright experience for secondary crafts.
- Knowledge of operating shop equipment.
- Rigging Experience
- Should be capable of entering information into computer software systems. Knowledge of SAP system.

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; work in high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold and heat; risk or electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
