Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Assistant, Lab performs standard lab duties while assisting multiple students and at times two computer labs. Activities are routine as well as repetitive. Reports to Division Operations Manager and a Department Chair. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitors and assists students with the lab requirement of their class
  • Responsible for monitoring and signing-off on students' lab time
  • Assists with monitoring and tracking lab supplies (workbooks, printer toner, and paper supply)
  • Uphold students' reasonable understanding of proper lab conduct
  • Operates a variety of office equipment, including but not limited to computer(s), printer, copier, and laminator
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Has a general knowledge of Internet Explorer, and search engines
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Must be detail oriented and precise
  • Must be able to follow the lab rules and guidelines
  • Must be punctual

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Lab Hours Mondays to Thursdays 9am to 7:30pm and Fridays 9am to 12pm (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)
  • Must be available to work until 7:30pm Mondays through Thursdays
  • There is a "no use of electronic devices" rule in place in the lab

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have taken and passed college level Freshman English courses or higher
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $11.32
