Job Summary
The Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise in the Gatton College of Business at University of Kentucky invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the economics of hospitals. The position would begin in Fall 2024 and conclude in June 2026.
The Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise has received a new grant from the Kentucky Hospital Association. The award is to write policy briefs and scholarly articles on several issues related to hospital finance, such as site-neutral payments, CON laws, regulations, tort reform, workforce shortages, administrative costs, public expenditures, and workplace violence.
Desired qualifications:
• Ph.D. in economics, public health, or a closely related field.
• Evidence of potential for publishing in top-tier economics journals.
• Experience studying issues related to health care finance and delivery.
• Experience writing critical summaries of academic literature.
• Experience with preparing and conducting analyses on large datasets using Stata or R.
