DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Care Physician's provide ambulatory medical care for all patients at OSH - Salem, as well as other medically related services through the Medical Clinic. The Primary Care Physician also facilitates referrals of OSH-Salem patients medical specialists in the community, as necessary
- Medical Duties –
- Provide general medical ambulatory care to all patients at OSH both in a clinic setting and on the patient’s unit/ward.
- Provide interpretations of specialty recommendations and in-house procedures/studies such as ECG’s and x-rays for unit staff and psychiatrists.
- Provide telephone consultation in the area of general medicine to other OSH staff physicians and unit staff
- Refer patients to outside medical specialists, as necessary
- Communication and Contact with Patient Families – Meet with families, other agencies, or the public-at-large, as needed, to promote and enhance patient care
- Documentation of Services – Perform basic office procedures in accordance with training
- Professional Responsibilities – Serve, as assigned, on OSH committees as directed by the Medical and Allied Health Professional Staff Executive Committee. Attend Medical Department meetings and education and training seminars.
- Hospital Support Functions – Can assume responsibilities of the medical OD on weekly rotating basis to include off-grounds telephone availability after regular work hours and on-grounds medical services a minimum of four hours during holidays and weekends when on duty.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You must possess, or have the ability to obtain:
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Satisfactory completion of a residency program in Internal or Family Medicine in the United States or Canada
- Physician's license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain the licensure throughout employment
- MD and DO's are both encouraged to apply.
