This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded through 6/30/26. There is the possibility of renewal, contingent on funding, university priorities and satisfactory job performance.

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Product Manager is a member of a high-performing team that focuses on the development and implementation of a world-class online learning platform. The Product Manager will be the point person working between academic departments, the HUIT development team, and external vendors to build, launch, and maintain the Learning Experience Platform’s registration and payment system built using Salesforce.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):

  • Collaborate with Harvard schools and departments to determine, document, and prioritize end-user needs.
  • Identify and remove operational roadblocks so the team can successfully collaborate to create educational value for our internal and external partners.
  • Manage the roadmap for the registration and payment system of the learning experience platform.
  • Serves as product owner for the scrum team.
  • Write requirements/user stories, produce user flows, and create sample screens/wireframes to convey needs and solutions.
  • Coordinate activities between product components by aligning scope, deadlines, and delivery with other product managers, technical teams, and developers.
  • Oversee UX/UI design for responsible systems.
  • Partner with QA team on test plans and user acceptance testing.
  • Facilitate decision-making, manage conflicts and resolve issues, escalate critical problems to project sponsors as necessary, ensuring major decisions are aligned with Harvard’s goals and direction.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in technical/software development product management
  • Experience
    • working in an Agile environment, preferably with Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong
    • communication skills in writing, verbally, and visually
    • organizational skills with the ability to handle detail and to see the big picture at the same time
    • understanding CRM and SIS systems in the academic domain
  • User-focused, collaborative, innovative, and open
Preferred:
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, and/or other tools
  • Experience with B2C and/or B2B ecommerce systems

Certificates and Licenses

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner, a plus

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office setting

Work Format Details

HUIT actively supports hybrid work where business needs allow. The Work Format for this position can be flexible based on the needs of the candidate. 

  • Hybrid (Partially onsite)
Travel to campus may be necessary based on business needs and the nature of work. Examples include bi-annual or quarterly Town Halls, critical business meetings or other work events.

All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only).
