POSITION:Production Manager

LOCATION:          Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts

REPORTS TO:      Principal

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Responsible for supporting and implementing the annual performance shows. Support the preparation of cultural exposure experiences and field trips (forms, buses, meals). The Production Manager will assist with the scheduling and arts enrichment programs at Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Facilitate 20+ production meetings and oversee the program task list as relates to the specific shows.

·       Stage manages the PK to Middle School showcases not limited to vocal, dance and theatre.

·       Secures performance rights for all drama and musical productions.

·       Creates and maintains performance calendar for PK-12 events.

·       Create and/or copy permission slips, parent letters and marketing to parents.

·       Facilitate the communication between production team, parents and all stakeholders.

·       Facilitate communication between the various elements of the production team; costumes, set, lights, sound and teacher coverage during shows.

·       Attends meetings and acts as a conduit between cultural and artistic organizations participating in meetings and joint activities where appropriate.

·       Serves as Site Coordinator for Hartford Performs.

·       Assist in planning the parent, staff, and student productions and cultural events.

·       Assists with coordinating purchasing of all materials as it relates to productions.

·       Assist administration with student placement in Performing Arts classes.

·       Assists in creating performing arts class rotation schedules.

·       Support all areas of the performing arts shows and exhibits.

·       Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·     Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with an emphasis in theatre or theatre related area.

·     Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in the theatre, preferred.

·     Knowledge of production, roles, and logistics of mounting theatrical productions.

·     Knows and understands district policies and procedures.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

None.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

11-month work year. Salary in accordance with Hartford Educational Support Personnel Grid B485 ($49,208-$58,357).
