The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.

The US Consumer Marketing (USCM) organization leads prospect acquisition and customer marketing for U.S. Consumer Products and Services, one of the largest growth engines within American Express. The Marketing Analytics & Investment Services (MAIS) Team within USCM is responsible for several key functions, including investment forecasting and calibrations, performance reporting, business insights, budget management & Investment Optimization (IO).

Within Investment Services, the goal of the Customer Growth Insights team is to track and broadcast USCM’s business results for existing customer marketing, relative to goals and over time. The vision for the team is to provide meaningful insights into the data, enable leadership to view and react to marketing campaign performance in real time for agile decision making, ensuring that investment dollars are continually optimized to the best investments from a customer and shareholder perspective.

We are seeking candidates for the role of ‘Senior Analyst - Customer Growth IO & Insights’. They will be joining at a critical and fascinating time in which Investment Services has integrated with the broader Marketing Analytics team and is looking to find synergies and deliver even stronger insights into customer investment performance! The individual will be responsible for applying best in class analytics to help Marketing identify and understand trends and anomalies in customer behaviors. They will become a subject matter expert on Customer Marketing reporting tools and will help monitor and ensure data quality.

The Customer Growth IO & Insights team will also be responsible for the programming of data layers that need to be incorporated into our last mile reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce insightful deep dives into Customer Treatments (ex. Cross-Sells, Upgrades and Lending treatments).
  • Maintain, enhance and execute the Customer ABC engine & own integration with teams like Investment Management (IM) and Finance.
  • Create, maintain, and deliver solutions based on the prioritization process.
  • Cater to ad-hoc analytic and data requests to leaders.
  • Deliver insights to marketing partners through ad hoc analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Marketing, Investment Management, Finance and Technology teams.
  • Provide an incubation environment for new analytic/reporting ideas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an Analytics environment.
  • Hands-on experience working on relational databases like SQL Server or any PostgreSQL database.
  • Intermediate data skills: SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Microsoft Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising on the quality.
  • Strong customer facing communication skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy – strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Project management skills – ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly
  • Relationship building skills – enjoys working as part of a larger team and fostering relationships
  • Presentation skills – equally capable of creating presentation materials and presenting in front of peers and more senior leaders
  • Proficiency with Excel – e.g. formulas, pivot tables, macros

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics or similar field.
  • Proven experience querying large sets of data and deriving insights.
  • Hands-on experience on Python (Pandas), Unix Scripting, Tableau/PowerBI reporting tools.
  • Good knowledge of any public cloud environment preferably Google Cloud

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
