Senior Systems Administrator

SUMMARY OF OBJECTIVES
Administer, support, and maintain the Company’sinfrastructure design and all related networks and systems to ensure thehighest levels of availability, redundancy, scalability, performance, andsecurity.  Apply proven analytical and criticalsolutioning skills to maximize the benefit of IT investments and best supportbusiness needs.  This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing,repairing, and upgrading all corporate hardware and equipment while ensuringits optimal performance.  The person willalso act as a technical SME supporting other IT team members/businessassociates and provide end user coaching and assistance, where required.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge/ experiencewith a wide range of technologies and continuous desire to learn.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor the Company’s data center and LAN/WAN operations. Install, configure, and maintain file, application, print, and database servers; domain controllers; virtual machines; and storage area network. Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance, break-fix and vendor-supplied patches. Responsible for evaluating, implementing and troubleshooting enterprise hardware and software solutions. 
Maintain network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, wireless network access points, site-to-site connections, and UPSs. Maintain security solutions, including anti-virus, endpoint security, remote access/VPN, and intrusion detection systems. Maintain voice communications (PBX) system.
Coordinate external hosted services, such as managed service providers, hosted websites, hosted email, instant messaging, and server/storage providers. Provide seamless and secure integration between internal and external services. Participate in development of a Cloud/SaaS strategy to support business needs.
Partner with the applications team to coordinate vendors for infrastructure upgrades, system implementations and issues through resolution.
Prioritize and respond to service desk tickets as needed. Perform root cause analysis and provide direction to minimize reoccurring incidents. Provide prompt assistance for escalated server and network issues.

Perform server and storage backups and recovery procedures. Participate in the development administration of disaster recovery/business continuity plans. Assist in developing strategies for client/server implementations; architect the infrastructure required to support those strategies.
Administers user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Oversee enterprise directory services, group policy, and supporting server infrastructure.
Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfers in accordance with business needs and industry best practices.
Provide technical consulting services to departments/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs. Act as technical architect in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware; networking and topology, conduct capacity planning as needed.
Coordinate implementation of key process improvements as they relate to the server operating systems and applications, network, and information security.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. Develop and maintain documentation of all server and network configurations and topology. Follows change management process for all changes to infrastructure.
Develops a culture of security awareness.  Performs routine and adhoc server, application and network security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure adherence to information security policies. Monitors and tests systems and network performance. Provide performance statistics and reports and proactively address performance issues as needed.
