Job Summary

The Social Media Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations and implements CCM’s social media strategy and presence. The Specialist is the departmental lead for MPR’s social media accounts and is responsible for executing strategy based on research and metrics. The Specialist maintains a social media content calendar and creates, edits and publishes content. This position is responsible for creating graphics, photography, video, and written copy to promote the college, increase brand recognition, engage and communicate to audiences, and connect CCM to the community, resulting in increased enrollment. This role ensures that CCM’s social media platforms communicate events, services, closures, announcements, open job positions and other relevant messages. The position requires consistent monitoring and moderating of CCM’s social media platforms. The Specialist is an integral team member in the development of the annual marketing plan, marketing strategy, and campaign timelines, as well as coordinating and working directly with student interns. Some weekend and evening hours are required.



Qualifications - Education

Associate’s degree required with a minimum of 1-2 years of strong work-related experience.



Qualifications - Experience

Highly proficient in Hootsuite, Social Media Platforms, Google Analytics and Canva; experience in using other MS Office Suite applications and MS 365.



Qualifications - Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to exercise independent judgment. Customer service focused.

Take photos and create video needed for both social media and other digital platforms.



Previous experience in higher education is highly desired.

Must be collaborative and able to work in highly creative environment.
