We are seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As the Staff Accountant, you will manage financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and lease administration to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Your role will involve preparing and reviewing financial statements, handling vendor documentation and payments, and assisting with tenant reconciliations and lease setups. Utilizing your proficiency in Yardi, AVID, and NorthSpyre, you will support property accountants and collaborate with internal and external customers to maintain efficient and effective accounting processes. Your commitment to excellence and detail-oriented approach will contribute to the organization's financial integrity and operational success.
To thrive/succeed, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, AP, AR, and lease administration.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi, AVID, NorthSpyre) and advanced Excel; SharePoint experience preferred.
- Solid problem-solving, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities as the Staff Accountant will include:
- Financial Reporting: Record journal entries, prepare financial statements, support schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable: Manage weekly check runs, vendor set-ups, and AP questions, as well as maintain A/P folders and documentation in Yardi and SharePoint.
- Construction Draws: Assist Property Accountants with NorthSpyre and AVID invoices as needed.
- Accounts Receivable: Handle tenant reconciliations, billing adjustments, lease modifications, and bad debt write-offs.
- Lease Administration: Assist with lease review, cost accruals, and revenue recognition control.
- Budget Assistance: Assist with revenue and expense reviews and load expenses into Yardi when required.
