Role:The RCM/HIM Systems Specialist reports to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle/HIM and supports the Revenue Cycle and HIM departments by assisting with RCM/HIM systems administration, as well as planning, documentation, training, and workflow optimization and standardization. This role manages the maintenance and configuration of the revenue cycle and HIM applications while keeping up-to-date in-depth knowledge of systems and processes to support the departments’ goals and objectives. Provides expert technical support to assigned department(s) and acts as the primary liaison to RCM/HIM system vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of experience and education, with a background in Finance/Accounting, Business, and/or IT or other Quantitative field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related RCM or financial healthcare experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience with relational databases / database administration or systems implementation
- Familiarity with project management concepts and ticketing systems
- Demonstrates professional integrity and work values while acting to best further the mission of the Company
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with Internal and External customers
- Practices the concepts of privacy and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Presentation skills and the ability to convey information in a user-friendly, audience-appropriate manner and format, such as in writing, with charts or diagrams, etc.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as subject matter expert on system functionality and standardized processes and workflows, as they pertain to Revenue Cycle and HIM/Coding throughout the health system
- Monitors system updates and models/communicates potential impact to leadership and other stakeholders
- Proactively researches and presents options, alternatives, and recommendations for system processes, settings, and changes to further scalability, compliance, and financial success.
- Responsible for loading rates for all lines of business
- Conducts and reconciles import processes for month end closing, or works with IT to ensure timely import
- Responsible for maintaining centralized, accessible, up to date documentation on business processes and system settings for Revenue Cycle and HIM departments.
- Plays a key role in Data Governance, working with VP or Revenue Cycle/HIM, and other departments as directed, to standardize formatting and nomenclature, and documentation, e.g. data dictionaries, across Chapters affiliates for Revenue Cycle and HIM/Coding data
- May travel, as needed, to health system locations.
- Designs, creates and manages complex data reports and defines and leads testing for all systems.
- Manages projects ranging from routine upgrades, maintenance, automation, process improvement and streamlining of processes and systems.
- Performs analysis, design, development, testing, troubleshooting, documenting, training, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of the RCM/HIM application environment to meet business needs.
- Provides day-to-day technical leadership for the issues that impact the RCM/HIM department(s). Acts as an expert resource to the RCM/HIM team members as it relates to RCM/HIM technologies and provides technology training to team members and others, as required.
- Partners with key stakeholders and other available resources to identify opportunities to create more effective and efficient processes and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Responsible for the development and coordination of RCM/HIM analytics and data reporting to support the various functions and businesses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
