Howmet Aerospace is currently looking an Tooling Tech to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for the aid in design, build and improvements of New Product Introduction (NPI) tooling, tooling support for engineering yield improvement, manufacturing support tooling and robotic/automation tooling.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of company’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions
  • Create models, drawings, assemblies utilizing Siemens NX12 under supervision of experienced designers and engineers 
  • Use toolroom and metrology equipment to create, repair, improve, and inspect fixtures, tooling, molds, etc
  • Investigate shop floor issues to improve safety, productivity, reduce scrap and variations in the process
  • Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings using GD&T specifications and standards.
  • Import and export data from various CAD formats.
  • Maintain and revise existing CAD drawings & models.
  • Provides technical support to engineers, and other departments to support tooling development and process improvements.
  • Ability to create and edit CAD models for rapid prototyping.
  • Manage project timeline from design through tool delivery.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution 
  • Basic computer skills; Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of investment casting manufacturing processes and equipment 
  • CAM programming and set-up for CNC and Wire EDM manufacturing.
  • Highly detailed and organized with good verbal and written communication 
  • Self Motivated
