Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include: handling of light-weight objects up to 25 pounds, as well as standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time.
Shift
Monday-Friday, day shift 8AM to 5PM with some nights and weekends depending on departmental needs.
Job Summary
The Trauma Registrar/UKHC is a member of the Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Services Department. Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: obtaining, abstracting, correcting, and entering appropriate patient data both concurrently and retrospectively on trauma patients. This position is an essential member of the trauma team responsible for maintaining the data needed to ensure a comprehensive multidisciplinary program for the care of the trauma patient.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have in-depth computer skills to include Microsoft office experience; a strong understanding of coding and registrar processes; and thorough understanding of data analysis. Educational coursework to be completed within one year of hire in order to obtain certifications. Trauma Registrar Certification required within the first 18 months of hire.

Preferred Education/Experience
Current Trauma Registrar Certification and Abbreviated Injury Scale Certification. Experience in coding and registry, medical terminology, and electronic medical records.
