The Construction Manager (CM) position is a vital position in the execution of HMS’s $300 million rolling 5-year capital plan and annual Campus Renewal program of ~$4 million through the delivery of projects. Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager and the support of the Director, the CM will oversee and control key aspects of the project during preconstruction, construction, closeout, and turnover. The CM will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the project meets the desired goals, standards, and requirements. The CM will partner with Project Managers (PM) throughout the life cycle of the project. This position is heavily weighted towards on-site construction administration and observations during construction phase activities. Work hours parallel those of construction trade partners and at times require off-hours and weekend work. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work. Preconstruction/Project Start - Escort consultants to area of proposed construction and review existing conditions and services. Performs pre-bid walk-thru. Manage all surveys to record the condition of existing conditions and equipment. Note emergency panels and emergency power circuits or assist vendors with same. Notify surrounding occupants of disruption (foot traffic, outages, noise, vibration, dust, etc.) and steps to be taken to minimize.
