Stress is believed to be the number one issue that causes college students to drop out of college. Licensed counselors provide thorough assessment and diagnosis of mental health issues, including those related to stress, and provide expert treatment and available resources. &nbsp;Counselors also provide comprehensive career decision-making services in the form of career counseling and career exploration. Academically, counselors assist students with navigating the complex landscape of higher education and provide practical and emotional support to academically struggling students. Through each of these services, students are given valuable tools to help them be successful and increase the retention and graduation rates at the college. The time frame of impact ranges from immediate (crisis intervention) to long-term (retention/graduation), depending on the nature of the services offered.&nbsp; If a problem should arise, the director of counseling would be called on to assist. If further assessment is warranted, community crisis services would be contacted for consultation.
Responsibility for Accuracy: If a Counselor did not possess job knowledge and skills to help students make informed decisions about personal, social, career, or academic areas, the student could be seriously harmed as well as the College.&nbsp; A lack of knowledge of crisis intervention techniques could in extreme instances result in the death of a student.&nbsp; Not being knowledgeable of program requirements and advising a student to register for inappropriate classes or misadvising about program/majors we offer would be errors with negative consequences. For verification purposes, we use consultation, documentation, and monthly reports to track services.
Judgement and Decisions:&nbsp;Counselors independently select the appropriate approach to address students’ academic or personal issues. Counselors must have the appropriate skill set to assess for crisis interventions and ability to make clinically appropriate recommendations for treatment. Title: Instructor of Nursing 12 Month/Simulation and Skills Lab Coordinator (Term)

This position is responsible for providing guidance, instruction, and leadership to registered nursing students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing program at the assigned program sites. Primary responsibilities include development and implementation of skills lab and simulation activities in collaboration with the dean of nursing and faculty and maintaining the labs and their inventory. Assist with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students. Provide classroom and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the AASN program utilizing team teaching methodology in an academic environment.
Job Duties:
Teach 10-20 hours per year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Collaborate with faculty in the simulation/skills lab to develop activities, program and run simulations, provide student instruction, and evaluate student performance. Maintain open lab hours with availability to students for instruction, supervision, and skills evaluation. Act as a resource and provide support and instruction for students in the skills lab requiring additional assistance. Instruction may include any relevant nursing concept or skill: Including but not limited to personal hygiene, client abuse, human sexuality, cultural diversity, ethnicity, nutrition (nursing, therapeutic aspects), pharmacology, legal, social and ethical aspects of nursing, nursing leadership and management. Minimum Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. They shall keep abreast of industry standards and techniques, reviewing periodicals and industry magazines commensurate to the course being taught.&nbsp; The instructor shall follow and maintain a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides to meet educational requirements and industry standards. Title: Instructor, Accounting - 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Maintain and submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Accounting; OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting Topics and a current CPA license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Documented experience teaching at the college level.
Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility.
Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of the student population.
Documented experience teaching Accounting courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.
Demonstrated experience incorporating current technologies into teaching.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Rate of Pay: $41,051.00 - $51,314.00 depending on experience
