<h2>Overview/Purpose: </h2>
Oversees the functions of the production line(s) to maximize and maintain optimum efficiency. Operates sophisticated/complex types of electrical/motor driven machinery and is responsible to synchronize the various machinery components of the production line. Monitors incoming WIP (work in progress) and packaging components to produce finish goods that meet food safety standards set forth. Communicates with line workers, warehouse and maintenance personnel to create a pleasant environment and promote good morale.
Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</h2>

<li>Direct and redirect labor as-needed throughout the shift to achieve shift production goals, maximize efficiency and maintain safety standards.</li>
<li>Conduct and record results for pre-start safety and sanitation inspections, pre-post operation form, and other key shift metrics</li>

The Maintenance Mechanic I troubleshoots and repairs all plant structures and equipment associated with the production and packaging areas. This is to be done with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.

Manufacturing Leader Kiln 1st Shift

As the CNC generalist machinist, you will be responsible for adjusting machines to control speed, material feed, and path of the cut, as well as ensuring the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality output. In this position you will be expected to clearly communicate with students on necessary procedures and information for CNC use, edit student CAD files as needed, program and execute three and five-axis CNC projects with Mastercam, and work collaboratively with the operations coordinator and shop staff to assist students with their projects.It is the responsibility of the CNC generalist machinist to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the lab for all SCAD members, following all SCAD and OSHA policies and procedures. The person in this position must maintain a professional appearance at all times and be able to work a flexible schedule, including over time, as needed.Minimum Qualifications: &nbsp;• Must have relevant CNC experience as well as experience with Rhinoceros, Solidworks, or similar software, with a proficiency in three-dimensional modeling • Demonstrates a detailed oriented approach to work with an ability to multitask in a deadline-oriented environment • Possesses knowledge of wood, wood processes, and wood working machinery with ability to measure dimensions of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications • Ability to review program specifications to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished work piece dimensions, and numerical control sequences • Ability to request maintenance and repair of equipment as needed; verbalizes knowledge of programming errors; familiar with the School of Design studio equipment, techniques, and safety proceduresCertificates, licenses, and registrations: <ul><li>Valid driver’s license</li><li>Acceptance as a SCAD authorized driver</li></ul>Travel required: <ul><li>Less than 10%</li></ul>Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday.
