Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing guidance, instruction, and leadership to registered nursing students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing program at the assigned program sites. Primary responsibilities include development and implementation of skills lab and simulation activities in collaboration with the dean of nursing and faculty and maintaining the labs and their inventory. Assist with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students. Provide classroom and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the AASN program utilizing team teaching methodology in an academic environment.
Job Duties:
Teach 10-20 hours per year via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Collaborate with faculty in the simulation/skills lab to develop activities, program and run simulations, provide student instruction, and evaluate student performance. Maintain open lab hours with availability to students for instruction, supervision, and skills evaluation. Act as a resource and provide support and instruction for students in the skills lab requiring additional assistance. Instruction may include any relevant nursing concept or skill: Including but not limited to personal hygiene, client abuse, human sexuality, cultural diversity, ethnicity, nutrition (nursing, therapeutic aspects), pharmacology, legal, social and ethical aspects of nursing, nursing leadership and management. Provide clinical instruction as needed. Supervise student lab workers. Monitor supply budget through collaboration with the dean of nursing, maintain supply inventory, and order supplies. Receive and assemble lab equipment and supplies. Maintain all lab equipment, computers, simulators, troubleshoot as necessary, and collaborate with appropriate companies for maintenance and upgrades. Develop and provide simulation training to faculty as necessary and act as simulation expert to faculty Maintain records and create reports related to the simulation and skills lab training, simulations, skills, equipment, and supplies. Develop, administer, and evaluate student performance as necessary to determine student level of performance and understanding, using evaluations to revise and update content, objectives, and instructional strategies. Coordinate student clinical placements and verify/submit student requirements in collaboration with faculty and dean of nursing. Participate in division activities associated with the instructional program. Communicate clearly with students and colleagues. Work effectively with traditional and non-traditional students including but not limited to the culturally and ethnically diverse. Demonstrate a willingness and commitment to extra-curricular responsibilities on behalf of the department of nursing, college and district. Participate in professional organizations related to nursing and teaching. Adapt to changes in the nursing program. Apply theories and principles of learning to instruction. Adapt instruction to the entry level knowledge and skills of students. Recommend course and program changes to the Division Dean when appropriate. Develop syllabi which meet college requirements and student needs. Use alternative instructional strategies where appropriate. Orient students to objectives and procedures before beginning instruction. Establish and communicate clearly defined grading and evaluation procedures and standards. Use evaluations to revise and update content, objectives, and instructional strategies. Give examinations and other types of evaluations necessary to determine student level of performance and understanding. Keep students aware of their progress in relevant courses, skills, and simulation lab. Perform record-keeping responsibilities related to teaching, lab instruction, and advising. Respond in a timely fashion to all reasonable deadlines. Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college and at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline OR a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college and actively enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing program. Must be endorsed with appropriate credentials of and unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Tennessee, CPR certification for healthcare professionals, and experience in nursing practice. Minimum of three years related work experience as an RN. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Simulation and skills lab teaching experience. Collegiate level teaching experience. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, reach with hands and arms, handle objects and controls, talk and hear, and stand for long periods of time.
Pay Rate: $57,536 - $71,920 annual salary depending on experience

Strictly adheres to the standard of patient and medical records confidentiality and professional conduct in all cases. 3. Performs reporting and surveillance activities a. Ensures timely and thorough reporting of all patients infected or at-risk of being infected with a communicable disease in order to implement early disease intervention techniques. b. Coordinates communicable disease surveillance within the health district through collection and monitoring of morbidity data. Enters all data gathered into accepted surveillance systems (i.e. SendSS). 4. Prepares documentation of all communicable disease case investigations occurring within the district a. Provides current information on CDC treatment guidelines to public and private health care provider. Plans, develops, and conducts HIV/AIDS as well as other communicable disease-related investigations within the health district. Ensures implementation of timely disease intervention strategies to promote disease control including the interviewing of patients, contact tracing, and notifying partners of exposures. Collects, analyzes and interprets data and disease-related information and prepares epidemiologic reports for programmatic purposes. Provides limited training, technical assistance and consultative services regarding the control of diseases. The Linkage Coordinator is responsible for marketing the linkage program to community partners, performing data collection activities, using Non-ARTAS or ARTAS intervention to link HIV-positive individuals to care and to re-engage them back in care. Performs various other duties as assigned in support of section and district operations.<dt><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4></dt>Bachelor's degree in PH Education, Education, Social, Behavioral or Biological Science from an accredited college or university AND Six months of related experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in a related area OR Four years of experience in a medical related field OR licensure as a registered nurse AND One year of nursing experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Communicable Disease Spec 1 (HCP080) or position equivalent.
