Title: Student Success Advisor, School of Health Sciences (Grant-funded)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing program advising and holistic supports for identified students specifically pursuing a degree or certificate in a healthcare related field. This position is currently funded by the Tennessee Board of Regents’ Relational Advising and Peer Mentoring grant through June 30, 2025 and is eligible for renewal thereafter.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides health sciences advising across all campuses. Builds relationships with assigned students to help them achieve their identified goals and objectives as they apply to and are enrolled in a health sciences program. Reviews student progress, including tracking and maintaining records of student conversations and use of recommended academic support service referrals and opportunity programs. Assists selected students in identifying factors that contribute to a lack of academic progress, helps students examine alternatives and applies appropriate retention strategies to support students’ efforts.
Strategizes with faculty and staff as needed to improve and/or support student success. Supports and participates in annual recruitment and enrollment of new students by providing pre-advising and/or career advising for selected programs, coordinates campus events for potential health sciences students, attends career fairs to promote Nashville State health sciences programs and participates in other promotional/recruitment activities. Utilizes an SIS student records system and be able to function within a computerized office environment.
Attends monthly TBR Relational Advising meetings and all other related trainings. Adheres to the approved guidelines of the Relational Advising and Peer Mentoring grant awarded by the Tennessee Board of Regents, including administering surveys, assessing and reporting data, fulfilling reporting requirements, ensuring complete and appropriate expenditures of all grant funds and ensuring all grant activities are closed, finalized or transitioned at the conclusion of the grant. The Chief Access and Compliance Officer supports the Vice Chancellor in the efficient and effective operation of the Office of Student Success and Strategic Partnerships. The Chief Access and Compliance Officer—Support, Training, and Compliance will be responsible for supporting the 13 community colleges and 24 colleges of applied technology, as well as the system office, in preventing discrimination and providing opportunities for all students. The DSIO will provide leadership and training for colleges and the system office in the areas of Title VI, Title IX, and Methods of Administration (MOA) compliance. This position reports to and supports the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Support Services and works in concert with system office leaders and personnel, as well as senior level administrators, staff, faculty and students to meet compliance obligations efficiently and effectively and foster ethical behavior and a culture of integrity. The position will serve as the Title VI Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator and will have primary responsibilities at the system office for non-discrimination training, including providing leadership and coordination necessary for implementation of major components of non-discrimination compliance within the TBR system. The position provides leadership and guidance on development and implementation of federal student and employee compliance topics, with an emphasis on helping the colleges’ Title IX Coordinators. The AVC is a service-based role assisting other stakeholders with systemwide projects and initiatives and will also conduct investigations into allegations of discrimination involving employees and students as needed. The position must possess the ability to build consensus and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel with a combination of tenacity and tact. The AVC will develop, coordinate, and support cross-functional and system-wide ongoing learning opportunities related to non-discrimination and inclusion; as well as develop, coordinate, and support targeted conferences, workshops and training. Substitute Instructors are responsible for delivering quality instruction in their field of expertise as it relates to the programs offered at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology – McMinnville, our Coffee County Instructional Service Center, or at a specific teaching location.

<li>Guides students in selection, perception, and performance of suitable learning activities.</li>
<li>Starts and ends class at designated time.</li>
<li>Supervises student conduct to ensure that the potentially hazardous shops/labs/classrooms provide an orderly environment conducive to productivity.</li>
<li>Accepts responsibility for equipment, tools, and supplies assigned to shop and/or classroom.</li>
<li>Stays in close communication with the full-time program instructor and/or other adjunct instructors of the same course.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by the Vice President or President.</li>

Physical Demands and Working Requirements (ADA Requirements):
Walking, climbing, bending, and stooping. Work performed in office, classroom, and shop/lab environments. Position requires the use of a computer.
Pay Range: $20 per hour depending on qualifications.

Title: Instructor, Biology - 9/10 Month (Term) - North Davidson Campus
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated course syllabi prior to the first day of class.
Regularly check your NSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Serve as academic advisor to students as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. This position will be based on the North Davidson campus in Madison with teaching assignments at the Southeast campus in Antioch. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Biology (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Biology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Collegiate level teaching experience.
Ability to teach a variety of biology courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Title: Executive Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs
Job Summary
The purpose of this job is to provide support to the Office of Academic Affairs, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and other offices within the Academic college unit regarding budget matters, external contracts, faculty contracts, promotion and tenure processes, class schedules, academic-related student issues, and other academic administrative needs.
Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Performs academic-related student support functions in Banner including repeat and other overrides, late drop/add functions; late withdrawal processing; maintaining Academic appeals/complaint log.</li>
<li>Enters all purchase requests, extra pay authorizations, academic contracts and MOU’s, and travel for the Office of Academic Affairs and faculty as requested; reviews all instructional travel for policy compliance.</li>
<li>Assist the Academic Affairs Coordinator with and serve as back-up for Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC) for all full-time, overload, and adjunct contracts for each part of term for all semesters.</li>
<li>Oversight of general office operations, office equipment, office supplies, filing, and paperwork that requires approval of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.</li>
<li>Assist Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, and other Academic supervisors in preparing the budget for each fiscal year along with advising/providing input on and preparing any budget changes.</li>
<li>Assist with planning and facilitating college functions and events.</li>
<li>Assist Academic Affairs staff with updating and maintaining Promotion and Tenure processes and other processes related to academic affairs.</li>
<li>Provide administrative support for Academic Affairs staff and Administrative Assistants as needed.</li>
<li>Assist Vice President of Academic Affairs with meeting scheduling, record appropriate committee minutes, and reporting of minutes from committees that report to VPAA.</li>
<li>Maintain and update current list of committee structures and memberships, and provide information to appropriate faculty and staff.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
