Title: Instructor of Nursing – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
Current unencumbered Tennessee Registered Nursing license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
Collegiate level teaching experience.
Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Position Summary: Pellissippi State Community College is seeking qualified contract instructors for its Workforce and Community Development Programs to meet the needs of our area workforce. We provide customized training for entry level employees as well as for professional advancement. Specific training is conducted at the request of business and industry partners. We also offer open enrollment courses for individuals seeking to upgrade their skills. Instructors work on a part-time, temporary contract to provide educational instruction for a specific class, workforce training, or youth camp. Instructors are expected to be subject matter experts on their topic, will be responsible for delivery of instruction, and may be responsible for developing instructional materials.
 Instructional areas that we are specifically seeking to fill include Excel (Basic and Advanced), Project Management, AI, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics. Other typical instructional areas include Electrical/Mechanical, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, PLCs, Robotics, Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Tool and Die, Construction Trades, OSHA, Lean Six Sigma, NFPA70E, Logistics/Supply Chain, Networking, Supervisory Management, and Microsoft Office. This is not an all-inclusive list of instructional areas. Actual courses may vary depending on community or industry demand.
