Title: Instructor, Music- 9/10 month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Music in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned, predominantly Introduction to Music (Music Appreciation) courses, and others that may be assigned. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments on all Davidson County campuses and prison sites. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in-person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy.
Work with Course Lead, Program Coordinator, Department Chair, and Dean to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system (D2L) to provide accurate and updated course materials to students. Submit updated and accurate syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success. Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Actively participate on committees within the Department of Music, the School of Arts and Humanities, and college-wide committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree or higher in Music, Applied Music, Music Performance, Music History, Music Literature, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology, OR
Master’s degree or higher in another discipline (including Music Education) and at least 18 graduate semester hours in Music, Applied Music, Music Performance, Music Literature, Music History, Music Literature, Musicology, or Ethnomusicology.

JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Math Lab Student Tutor is to provide content-specific assistance in the learning process to individuals or groups of students. This position requires the student employee to have excellent communication, social skills and the ability to adapt his or her teaching methods to meet the needs of each student.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
<ul>
<li>Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide them with academic tutoring to improve their understanding of content, at all levels.</li>
<li>Use various teaching strategies for tutoring.</li>
<li>Monitor students while testing.</li>
<li>Motivate and support students through positive feedback and reinforcement.</li>
</ul>
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Tutors may be asked to assist with additional tasks to support various departments in the college.
EQUIPMENT
Work activities routinely involves work with personal computers and peripheral devices. Math lab tutoring involves moving between lab computers and circulating the room to proctor students.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge in Statistics, Precalculus, or Calculus.
JOB STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS

<li>High school Diploma or equivalency.&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>An A grade of A or B in the relevant course (e.g., a grade of A in Math 1530 Introductory Statistics for a statistics tutor).</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Clear communication of subject matter material(s).</li>
<li>Ability to work with virtual meeting platforms.</li>
<li>Collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.</li>
</ul>
JOB LOCATION
&nbsp;Math Lab Tutors will be assigned to either the main campus of Cleveland State or the McMinn Higher Education Center in Athens.&nbsp;

      Math Lab Tutors (Student Tutors)
    

Title: Student Account Associate
POSITION SUMMARY Serves as the first point of contact for students and is responsible for taking payments, office communications, data entry, problem solving and general office work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide customer services such as taking payments, answering phone calls, emails, and other office communications. Reconcile accounts on a monthly and yearly basis. Make entries to accounts and data entry. Process fee waivers. Facilitate and track students on payment plans for past due accounts. Assist office administrators with assigned tasks and special projects.
Scan departmental records to the document management system. Test system upgrades. General office work such as filing, sorting mail, maintaining office calendars, etc. Cross-train in other office tasks and have general knowledge of overall office operations. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Intermediate computer skills
Customer service experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Cash handling experience
Banner experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to learn and comprehend basic accounting principles. Ability to handle cash. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to balance competing priorities and juggle multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with a diverse group of individuals, both internal and external.

Rate of Pay: $30,751.50 - $36,894.00 depending on experience
