Business Analyst, Sr
Overview
The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the application needs of internal customers and the Technology team and actively prioritizes requests to ensure needs are met. Identifies and documents user/member requirements to ensure that business problems can be solved with available applications and, if not, actively pursues alternative applications and/or business process improvements. This senior role will lead complex and/or cross-organizational change, mentor less experienced business analysts, guide business partners on writing high-level scope, and collaborate with the PMO Director and key stakeholders to standardize business analysis in the credit union.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather requirements and resolve conflicts.
- Implements projects across OnPoint, with particular focus on those related to Technology systems.
- Translate high-level scope into prioritized, detailed requirements, use cases, and user stories for technology teams.
- Serve as liaison between internal customers and Technology’s Core, DBA, RPA, and Development teams to create business requirement documentation for complex and/or cross-organizational changes.
- Lead business analysis and change meetings with business partners that are in higher level positions (e.g., directors, VPs, and SVPs).
- Lead the Business Change Management Board meeting as required.
- Provides feedback/suggestions on feasibility, changes and timelines in alignment with these teams and project managers.
- Consults with internal business partners to identify process improvement and development opportunities.
- Supports in the scope, design and oversight of the application development efforts involving internal as well as third-party development partners.
- Aids in the development and execution of test plans, including risk analysis, test cases and coordination of testing activities, bug tracking and resolution.
- Creates and maintains documentation related to Technology application functionality, defects and roadmap.
- Works with internal customers and the Technology team to implement application changes, improvements, and revisions to ensure short and long-term business objectives are achieved.
- Researches and recommends new uses or processes of existing /new technologies and applications.
- Maintains effective communication with OnPoint management, staff and branches.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships and trust with internal partners.
- This senior role will mentor less experienced business analysts.
- Guide business partners writing high-level scope which Senior Business Analyst will then transform into detailed requirements.
- Collaborate with the PMO director and key stakeholders to standardize business analysis cross-organizationally in the credit union.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including backup of other Technology team members as needed.

- Ability to quickly learn additional software applications, banking principles, banking compliance, and/or banking systems as needed to support business needs.
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in the below:
- Prior experience in technology, including business analysis or process improvement required.
- Prior experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies required.
- Prior experience with SQL (or similar) preferred.
- Prior experience required in at least one of the following: business intelligence, data management/modeling/maintenance; digital change; or AI.
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office product suite (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and the like. Ability to master updated or new software and platforms as required by evolving technology.
- Professional business analysis training or certification required e.g., CBAP, BABOK, SDLC, Agile/Scrum, or Lean Six Sigma.
Workstyle
Hybrid – three office, two remote per week.
