Title: Coordinator, Nursing Pathway

Pay Rate: $47,760 - $59,110.00/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Position Summary: To provide leadership and support for the Nursing Pathway’s curriculum and students. Leadership and support are primarily focused on maintaining connections with area Nursing schools and distributing information to Nursing Pathway students and advisors.

Essential Functions:

60% Coordinate Nursing Pathway advising. Communicate with PSCC AAS Nursing advisors. Maintain dedicated Nursing Pathways advising area on the Hardin Valley Campus, and provide advising information to students at other campuses, as well. Advise nursing pathway students as well as maintain connections with Nursing Pathways advisees through emails and social media platforms, as well as visits to prerequisite classes.

20% Develop and implement annual plans for the program area. Develop and maintain relationships with transfer institutions for Nursing Pathways. Develop and maintain accurate advising literature for transfer institutions/programs. Keep current information on website and available in print.

15% Collaborate with Student Orientation coordinators to ensure that all incoming students who are interested in nursing are given appropriate information. Coordinate with enrollment representatives to represent PSCC at high school events, career fairs, etc.

5% Other duties

Participate in routine activities and special initiatives related to Nursing Pathways. Mediate and address student and faculty concerns and conflicts. Supervise work-study and/or Student Employment Program (SEP) students.  

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% of full-time experience.

  • Percent of Nursing Pathway students served by advising and communications
  • Maintenance of current nursing literature from area nursing programs.
  • Maintenance of nursing pathway advising on all campuses

Complexity & Creativity: College policies and procedures are readily accessible online and are consulted regularly; however, problems commonly arise that require analytical and creative solutions based on an interpretation or extrapolation of policy or procedure.

Personnel Contacts: At PSCC everyone from the physical plant to the Dean.

Off campus could involve TBR, regional leaders, high school/college/university representatives, etc.

Nature of Contacts: The nursing path coordinator will interact with administrators, advisors, coordinators, faculty, and students in the college as they obtain and share relevant information regarding the nursing pathway. In addition, the coordinator will interact with local transfer partners to share information regarding transfer options for students.

Responsibility for Accuracy: These errors, or oversights should be caught, if not immediately by the supervisor, the Dean or Departmental Assistant, and by the subsequent reviewers.

Judgement and Decisions: Day to day management of Nursing Pathways advising.

Physical Demands: Travel to all campuses will be required. Otherwise, a standard degree of ability in walking, standing, and sitting are required. Manual dexterity (use of computer keyboard and handwriting) is necessary.
