Role:The Dietary Coordinator has day-to-day responsibility for food service personnel. Performs all organizational duties for dietary department as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in dietary
- Supervisory and/or management experience in a commercial dietary setting
- Serve Safe Certification or comparable certification recognized by the Florida Department of Health preferred (if not, must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment)
- Must possess technical proficiencies in food service
- Quality cooking experience in a healthcare or commercial environment
- Prefer CDM Certified and/or CFPP Certified Food Protection Professional
- Knowledge of HACCP standards
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Working knowledge of healthcare food industry standards preferred
- Mobile Driver – Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy. Ability to travel off-site to meet business needs
- Basic working knowledge of housekeeping duties and responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight duties for dietary staff for the facility to include scheduling of staff, appropriate documentation, training staff, filling in during shift vacancies, and working with other Team Leaders to cover all needs of dietary and housekeeping departments.
- Carries out responsibilities including interviewing, department orientation for new staff, conflict resolution, coaching and counseling, performance evaluation input, time sheet authorization, and timely documentation.
- Provides outstanding customer service to all customers, both internally and externally.
- Complies with state, federal, local regulations and laws as well as Company policies, procedures and practices.
- Purchases food and equipment needs; selects and plans menus; oversees staffing of kitchen operation; maintains health safety and sanitation levels.
- Reports all call offs and performance issues to Manager.
- Prepares meals, cooks, cleans and serves, when necessary.
- Acts as primary dietary resource for staff and consults with Dietitian.
- Assists staff members with accurately determining appropriate meal for patients.
- Ensures timely attention to effective solutions for customer concerns and complaints. Immediately reports any customer service complaints or concerns to the Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
