Summary
Internship will work closely with ESG Committee members, supporting completion of GRESB submission, annual Centerspace ESG report. Plays a role in developing the ESG risk register, ESG dashboard, vendor disclosure documents, climate risk criteria set, green cleaning standards, landscaping protocols. May assist in developing short ESG training videos.

Self-motivated. Possess ability to prioritize and manage time to meet deadlines. Requires a high level of initiative. Ability to communicate clearly and exercise good judgment.

GRESB, TCFD, Centerspace Annual Report:
Collaborate cross functionally to gather data and information required for the annual GRESB and TCFD submission. Assist in organizing and reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Contribute to the preparation of GRESB and TCFD survey responses.
Assisting in Editing and Finalizing Annual ESG Report:
Assist in collecting and analyzing data to be included; support the ESG team in editing and proofreading the annual ESG report.
ESG Dashboard for Multifamily Property EUI (Energy Use Intensity) Comparison:
Support the operations team adoption of an ESG dashboard to compare EUI across the portfolio. Assist in collecting and analyzing ESPM data, monitoring and getting corrections made as needed. Collaborate cross functionally to ensure accurate and meaningful data visualization.
Vendor ESG Disclosures for YARDI Vendor Cafe:
Assist in the development of ESG disclosure requirements for our vendors. Collaborate with existing vendors to collect information on disadvantaged businesses and their ESG disclosures. Test, audit and report on the results.
Developing ESG and Climate Risk Criteria Set for Due Diligence and Acquisitions:
Work with Investments team to develop criteria for assessing ESG and climate risks in due diligence and acquisitions. Conduct research and analysis to identify relevant criteria and indicators. Contribute to the development of risk assessment frameworks and methodologies.
Develop Green Cleaning Standards:
Collaborate cross functionally to develop green cleaning standards for our properties. Research and identify environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices. Assist in creating guidelines and protocols for implementing green cleaning practices.
Develop Landscaping Protocols:
Support the development of landscaping protocols that align with the USDA plant hardiness zone map.
Research and identify sustainable landscaping practices and materials. Assist in creating guidelines for maintaining environmentally friendly landscapes.
Assisting in Developing Short ESG Training Videos for LMS (Learning Management System):
Collaborate cross functionally to develop short training videos on ESG topics. Assist in scriptwriting, production and editing of training. Contribute to the development of engaging and informative content.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of office protocols and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ESG concepts.
Note: This is a 12-week internship position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
