The Financial Management Lead will support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center as well as internal firm initiatives and special projects. This position may be performed remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities

The Financial Management Lead shall support the government in the execution of targeted financial and other program reviews to include the following responsibilities: 

  • Serving as the chief subject matter expert to government staff regarding Accountable Care Organization financial management, including topics such as banking forms, financial information, repayment mechanisms, and audits. 
  • Leading financial reviews and assisting the government in developing and refining standard processes and procedures to operationalize financial model requirements, including but not limited to the following:  
  • Reviewing Accountable Care Organization repayment mechanisms with third parties to confirm ability to repay program funds. 
  • Reviewing spend plan submissions, detailing how Accountable Care Organizations intend to disburse funds provided and ensuring compliance with model allowable uses. 
  • Supporting in the development and execution of wider model compliance strategy.  
  • Working collaboratively with other team members in execution of these reviews and coordinating with and providing mentoring of other program staff on financial topics.  
  • Providing expert advice and oversight regarding the Accountable Care Organizations’ financial management to both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Contributing to a robust stakeholder management and communications program that includes regular newsletters, executive level presentations relating to program progress, planning, and results. 
  • Preparing, refining, and supporting publication of a variety of regular as well as ad-hoc/client-requested deliverables, including: 
  • Annual Guidance Updates 
  • Annual spend plan development training programming 
  • Audit repayment mechanism training programming 
  • Financial or audit finding reports 

Qualifications

  • Seven to ten (10) years of progressive, relevant experience with financial management within public health Commercial Health Plan Operations, Government Health Plan Operations.   
  • Degree in business, healthcare administration or financial management (Master’s Degree preferred). 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.  
  • Travel may be required. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust level clearance and/or background investigation. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly.  
  • Ability to work independently with a client team either on-site or in a remote working capacity. 
  • Ability to conduct oversight of multiple teams working concurrently on discrete missions.
