Physical Requirements

Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders upto 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Continuous working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.



Shift

Primarily Days Monday – Frivday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends are possible due to experimentation.



Job Summary

The Scientist I will be responsible for conducting bioinformatic data analysis, including the collection and interpretation of microscopy data.

This role involves analyzing patient echocardiography and MRI datasets to support research projects and clinical studies.

The candidate will also develop and maintain custom code for efficient data analysis, utilizing tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB.

Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is expected to ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field with experience in handling large datasets and medical imaging data.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bioinformatic analyses on biological and clinical datasets.
- Collect, process, and analyze microscopy data.
- Analyze patient echocardiography and MRI data to derive insights for research studies.
- Develop and optimize code for data analysis workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate findings clearly.


Qualifications:
- Experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related fields.
- Proficiency in coding languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).
- Familiarity with microscopy and medical imaging data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Mouse care/breeding/dissections, cell dissociation, RNA isolation, recombinant DNA techniques, cell biology, cell culture, Microsoft Excel, organizational skills, attention to detail, writing skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

Terminal degree (PhD) in a science related field and multiple years of successful independent work history.
